Our approach is learning based around fun and play within a structured environment. Our focus is to provide a facility where the child can progress as an individual and where the group as a whole can develop positive social interactions and be able to work as a team. All of our activities in the nursery are based around learning and acquiring the social skills necessary for the children to mature and develop. We encourage all of our children to be polite, well mannered and respectful of others. The nursery and preschool is very well equipped with both indoor and outdoor resources for our children to use and enjoy. Our duty is to provide a safe and secure environment for all children.

The preschool hours are from 8.30 to 15.00, we have small groups of children each day from all nationalities and all walks of life. The youngest are accepted from 2 years old and we welcome children up to 6 years of age. In the afternoon groups 15.30 - 17.30 we have many possibilities to capture the imagination of most children whether it be to cultivate young scientists, lure budding novelists or just to become acquainted with the English language, we probably have a group to suit most needs and a highly qualified staff to lead them. (Children from 4-9 years old accepted.)

How can Three Bears fulfill your requirements?

A modern and friendly interior. Three Bears moved into newly renovated premises in 2009 which offered a larger play and teaching area for the children and enabled us to offer nutritious hot lunches as part of the nursery/preschool package.

A safe and stimulating environment. Our current premises have spacious areas for creating, learning and play but also designated quiet areas for younger children to relax or sleep. Their surrounding environment is designed to stimulate enquiring minds.

A variety of age appropriate toys, games and outdoor playthings. Children of different ages have different physical skills and abilities so it is important to offer each age group the appropriate means to develop these skills without the child becoming frustrated or bored, we offer our children a selection of toys, games and activities to keep them motivated and engaged during free play and activity time. We also believe outdoor play is very important to their physical development so we therefore provide access to secure play areas.

An organized and well balanced education curriculum. Our nursery and preschool education curriculum adopts the UK early years key stage guidelines and key stage one and two guidelines as a model only to help track and assess each child’s progress and development through observation.

A qualified education professional in the role as teacher. Leonie Krieger is a tertiary qualified and professionally trained primary school teacher, with 16 years experience in education and childcare. “I am passionate about children and education; it is so important to recognize children’s specific development stages in order to educate them effectively and care for their needs and wants with compassion and understanding”.

A staff to support learning and care. The Three Bears support staff are people chosen for their warmth and caring towards children. They are generally parents themselves and may have experience or education within the childcare or teaching profession.

A special needs support program. Three Bears supports those children who may need assistance with speech therapy, have aural or sight difficulties, learning or environmental challenges.

Separate age based learning groups. Separate age based groups are employed during directed play, mathematics, language, art and group activities since the developmental stages of each age group are so vastly different from one another leading to frustration and boredom in the children within a whole group environment. However during free play and shared reading children are grouped together to cultivate peer assisted learning, sharing, co operation and tolerance towards others.
